A FEW OF THE RECENT AWARDS & PRIZES WON BY THE STUDENTS

K. LAVANYA of class V A won the 1st prize in the Draw Kids 2010-2011 Inter District Competition held in Tamilnadu & Puducherry conducted by Osho Communications.

K. YAZHINI of class III B won the 2nd prize in the Draw Kids 2010-2011 Inter District Competition held in Tamilnadu & Puducherry conducted by Osho Communications.

S.R. SRI RANJANI of class V A won the 1st prize in the Draw Kids 2010-2011 Inter District Competition held in Tamilnadu & Puducherry conducted by Osho Communications.

S.HARIPRIYA of class IX won the 2nd prize in the Draw Kids 2010-2011 Inter District Competition held in Tamilnadu & Puducherry conducted by Osho Communications.

T. DHANYA DILIP of class IV A won the 1st prize in the Craft Competition conducted by Art Land Children Art Centre.

T. DHANYA DILIP of class IV A won the 1st prize in the Drawing Competition conducted by Art Land Children Art Centre.

Ananda Vinayagam and Haran of class VIII and Bismi S. Maheem of class VI won the second position in Indian Oil Corporation quiz conducted in Petite Seminaire School.

Mahendra Varman M secured the runner-up position in Badminton in the Inter School Sports Competition 2010-11, organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. 5 students were selected for School level Gita Chanting competition conducted by Chinmaya Mission, Puducherry.

Four students, M. Mahendra Verman and O. Harish have been selected for State Level School Badminton Championship in Under 17

category and Sanjay Srivastav and Nirmal Kumar in Under 14 category in Yaanam.

Two students M. Mahendra Verman and Sanjay Srivastav have been selected for School National (School Games Federation of

India) for Badminton

S. R. Janani has obtained the certificate of merit in Smt Leelavati Ammayar Memorial Chess Club competition held on 21st and 22nd August, 2010.

Our Under 13 School team comprising of Sanjay Srivastav. D, Nirmal Kumar.C, Rakshan Kumar . S. And Praveen Kumar emerged winners in the

Badminton tournament conducted at the Zonal level by School Games 2010-2011, Zone II.

Two students, Sanjay Srivastav and Nirmal Kumar have been selected for State Level Badminton championship.

Our school comprising of team members M. Mahendra Varman, O. Harish, J. Karthikeyan and M. Aravind of class X clinched the first prize in the Badminton tournament conducted at the Zonal level by School Games 2010-2011, Zone II.

Two students, M. Mahendra Verman and O. Harish have been selected for State Level School Badminton Championship.

In the State Badminton tournament conducted by Badminton Association, Puducherry, Sanjay Srivastava of class VII emerged the winner in both the Under 13 Singles and Doubles category.

Sanjay Srivastav also has been ranked First in Under 13 category in the State Level Ranking Tournament. In the Under 16 category, M. Mahendra Verman has been ranked Second.

In the Inter School Chess Competition at the Zonal level in zone II, our school boys won the II place. A.M. Jagadish of class VII, Santosh Kumar. A of class VI and N. Abinesh of class VIII represented the school.

Sairam – Class II A won the II position in the Geetha chanting competition conducted by the Chinmaya Mission.

Srivarshini – Class II A won the III position in the Geetha chanting competition conducted by the Chinmaya Mission.

O. Harish – Class VIII – 10.10.08 – Subjunior Invitation Badminton Tournament – 2008 – (Anna Stadium, Cuddalore) – 01.10.2008 – 06.10.2008 – Under 16 Boys Doubles – Runner

A.M. Jagadish - Class V – Drawing Competition in – Running Train. Conducted by Pondicherry State Artists’ Society.

J. Vasantha Kumar – Class V – Selected for All INDIA SIP ABACUS & BRAIN GYM COMPETITION

B.Vivita – Class VIII  Won 2nd place in the Regional Level Craft Competition (with Waste Materials) and was selected for State Level Competition and she won the Ist place in it.  
S. Sathana – Class V & J. Preethi Class V took part in the Regional Level Science Exhibition (Maths – Model Making) and received a Consolation Prize for their exhibit.

O. Harish Class VIII was selected for the National level Badminton Tournament. He is one among the 2 students from Puducherry. And also he is from Zone II.

S. Devasena Class VIII was selected as the CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS in the female group in the YOGA SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP.

S. Vidhya Shankari – Class V secured VI prize in 23rd Pondicherry state Yoga Sport Championship 2008.

O. Harish – Class VIII won Ist prizee in (Doubles) in Badminton conducted by the Five Star club Puducherry. (Under 16 Level)

Sanjay Srivatsa – ClassV won 3rd prize in (Doubles) in Badminton conducted by the Five Star Club Puducherry. (Under 13 Level)

O. Harish – Class – VIII, won Ist prize in (Doubles) in Badminton conducted by Cuddalore District Badminton Association (Under 16)

P. Sindhuja – Class – III – won 2nd prize in Saffron – 08, Students drawing competition, conducted by Kalaimagal Kalaikoodam, Institute of Drawing, Puducherry.

M. Akshay Kumar - Class III B won Gold Medal in Kids Boys – LT. Mid. Weight Category. Organized by PUDUCHERRY TAEKWONDO SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

J.Arun – Class III A won Gold Medal in Kids Boys – LT. Mid. Weight Category. Organized by PUDUCHERRY TAEKWONDO SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

S.Praveen Kumar – Class IV won Gold Medal in Kids Boys – Sub Junior Boys – Bantham .A. Organized by PUDUCHERRY TAEKWONDO SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

R. Balaji – Class II won Silver Medal in Kids boys LT. HVY Weight Category. Organized by PUDUCHERRY TAEKWONDO SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

P. Riddhi Kothari – Class II won Silver Medal in Sub Junior Girls- FIN Weight Category which was organized by PUDUCHERRY TAKEWONDO SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

R. Vinoth – Class II won Silver Medal in Kids boys Bantam Weight Category which was organized by PUDUCHERRY TAEKWONDO SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

E. Agilan – Class I won Silver Medal in Kids Boys – Fly Weight Category which was organised by PUDUCHERRY TAEKWONDO SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

Five students of VIDHYA NIKETAN brought laurels to the school when they bagged    six prizes in the 24 hour long Quizzathon conducted by NDTV 24/7. Dhanya Dilip of class II bagged the second prize in the English essay writing    competition and consolation prize in Drawing competition in the sub-junior level. Vandana of class II bagged the first prize in the Tamil essay writing competition in the sub-junior level. Sinduja. B if III standard won the second     prize in the General Awareness competition and Rishiga.K of III standard bagged the 2nd prize in the English essay writing competition. Also, Ananda Vinayagan of class VI won the 2nd prize in the General Awareness Quiz competition.

Devasena of class VIII was selected the second runner-up in the Gitananda Best Youth, Best Child award instituted by Yoganjali Natyalayam in the overallcompetitions whichincludedtesting of various skills like Quiz, Dumb Sharads, Drawing, Suspense events.

Reshma S. Kumar of class VII won 1st prize in Team Quiz, 3rd in Team Dumb Sharads and Suspense events, and 4th in Drawing.

Yazhini.K of class I won the first prize in the LITTLE MASTERS drawing competition conducted by Acharya Shiksha Mandir. 

K.Rishika – Class II won Silver Medal in Kids Girls – Bantam Weight Category which was organised by PUDUCHERRY TAEKWONDO SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

J. Seddilal Vigneshwaran – Class V won Bronze Medal in Sub Junior Boys – Welter B Weight Category which was organised by PUDUCHERRY TAEKWONDO SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

Harish – Pre K.G. won the I prize in the Drawing competition conducted by Kothari Vidhya Mandir
